Join us for a special Saturday reading program in May!  As part of KRS' Music Appreciation theme this month, talented musicians will be sharing their music and demonstrating its connection to literacy. They will also perform for KRS and lead our students in making maracas in time for Cinco de Mayo!

SCHEDULE:

• 8:20 - 8:50 a.m.: Volunteer Registration (*If you are a new volunteer, please sign in by 8:30 am at the latest. If you are a returning volunteer, please arrive by 8:40 am.  Please be on time; volunteers who have completed a background check will be matched with a student on a first-come, first serve basis.)
• 8:50 - 9:00 a.m.: Volunteer orientation
• 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.: Volunteers read with students
• 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.: Special presentation by guest speakers

PARKING: Park on side streets and/or 99 Cent Store parking lot on 442 N. Los Robles Ave, Pasadena.

BACKGROUND CHECK: Because KRS works with children, we are required to do a background check on all volunteers. Thus, before you can volunteer at KRS, you must complete a new volunteer application and bring with you to KRS' sign-in a form of photo identification (e.g., a driver's license) for background check purposes. Please fill out a new volunteer application online here before coming to volunteer.

CANCELLATIONS:  If you must cancel, please give us at least 48 hours notice so we can find a volunteer replacement if necessary.
